any additional food you want to bring to share (including holiday cookies!!)

as well as a

Fun Gift Exchange

To qualify as a "Fun Gift" the gift has to come from someplace like 

the Dollar Store or Dollar General or the Family Dollar Store 

or from the $1 bins at Target or something similar. 

(Last years gifts included a travel lint roller, a "pirate hook", erasures, stickers, coloring books, etc.) 

You can bring one gift or more, make sure they are wrapped, and we will

enjoy the traditional exchange of gifts and food.

Remember, you don't need to spend a lot of money for this to be lots of fun.

Please make note that, due to the New Year Holiday, our January meeting will be on the Second Saturday (January 9).

Friends and Family Picnic - Highlights

Yesterday was our annual picnic and, in-spite of the dreary weather forecast, we opted to plow ahead with the picnic plans. Even though attendance was down, the spirits of all in attendance were high. The food was excellent and we were entertained with the aid of helium assisted chipmunk voices!!

We welcomed some new faces and reconnected with some old friends. Thanks to all who attended and shared their varied culinary talents with the group.

Hopefully, the picnic next year will be accompanied by a higher outside temperature and no need for various layers of clothing.

April Meeting Snafu

An Explanation/Apology 

If You Tried To Call In For The April Meeting and Didn't Reach Us

For the first time ever, we were unable to set up our phone line at the usual start time because security had not opened up the meeting room! 

Yes, we were locked out and waited in the hallway for 10 - 15 minutes before we could get into the room to set up the phone. 

So, if you were trying to call in but didn't get through we apologize profusely. Hopefully, it will not happen again. But, if for some reason you don't get through when you call, hang in there and keep trying or check here or on our Facebook page for updates.

Suddenly Sleepy Saturday and March Meeting

Our March meeting will be on March 7 which also has been designated as Suddenly Sleepy Saturday (the day the clocks change). Many groups plan activities for Suddenly Sleepy Saturday - walks and bed races to name a few - to raise public awareness about narcolepsy and other sleep disorders. Being the considerate and thoughtful group that we are (and living in the Chicago-land area as we do), we think that the weather is too chancy at that time of year to plan any outside activities. It was decided by those that attended the February meeting (and stayed after to discuss many things) that we will have our regular meeting on March 7, but afterwards, we would invite anyone in attendance, to help us celebrate Suddenly Sleepy Saturday at the Walker Brothers Pancake House located at 153 Green Bay Road in Wilmette immediately following the meeting.

A reminder will be posted as usual sometime during the week before the next meeting.
